79.9% of Newton County residents old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 7,343 citizens living in Newton County in 2021, 79.9% were old enough to vote, equating to 5,866 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 2,965 were male, constituting 50.5%, and 2,901 were female, making up 49.5%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Newton County during 2021 was higher than the state average, which stands at 76.5%.
