UNIVERSITY OF THE OZARKS ATHLETICS: No. 23 Mary Hardin-Baylor Upends Eagles

No. 23 Mary Hardin-Baylor grinded out a 76-56 win over the Eagles Thursday night in conference play. The Eagles forced the Crusaders into a battle in the first half. Mary Hardin-Baylor led 42-38 at halftime as the Eagles hung within striking distance. However, the Crusaders slowly pulled away in the third quarter. The Eagles went cold scoring only nine points in the quarter to allow the Crusaders to gain a 60-47 lead heading into the fourth quarter. The much bigger Crusaders recorded 47 rebounds in the contest. Heaven Hayden led the Eagles with 13 points off the bench.

TURNING POINTMary Hardin-Baylor limited the Eagles to nine points in both the third and fourth quarter.

TIP-INSHeaven Hayden had a productive night off the bench hitting 5-of-10 from the field to score a team-high 13 points. Hayden also had three rebounds, two steals and two assists.

UP NEXTThe Eagles will host Concordia January 7.
