Mary Mother of God Church – Harrison issued the following announcement on May 16.
My friends, I have served you as your pastor for some twelve years. Those years have been a time of great blessings, personal growth, and joy for me. I am most grateful to you for that, THANK YOU.
I am now becoming a Senior Priest (retired) -- why? Well, for some time I have noticed that my energy level and stamina have been waning, and I believe that you could be better served by someone else as pastor.
I consulted with Bishop Taylor and the DOLR Personnel Board, and now am being assigned to serve as Senior Priest.
Now I can continue to serve as priest but without the usual routine and responsibilities of being pastor. I'm looking ahead to helping out covering where the local pastors need to be away for one reason or another, especially in North Central Arkansas.
You may have questions, I'd gladly answer them. Please do call Robin at the church office in Harrison at 870-741-5234, let her know and I will call you.
Again, thank you very much for everything, and may God bless you. I appreciate you a great deal.
Father Jim Fanrak
