Holy Redeemer Church – Clarksville issued the following announcement on Feb. 25.
ASH WEDNESDAY: Beginning of Lent. Distribution of ashes at the Masses: 8:00 a.m., 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. (Spanish).
FAST AND ABSTINENCE GUIDELINES FOR LENT: Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of Fast and Abstinence. All Fridays during Lent are days of abstinence. Fasting: One full meal; other two should not equal the main meal. Snacks between meals are not allowed. Everyone, ages of 18 and 59, are required to fast on these days, except those sick and/or under doctor’s care. Abstinence: Everyone, ages 16 and older are required to abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday and all Fridays during Lent.
