University of the Ozarks Athletics issued the following announcement on Oct. 18.
University of the Ozarks sophomore goalkeeper Sydney Frazier was named the American Southwest Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Monday (October 18).
Frazier, from Lake Dallas, Texas, kept both of the Eagles' opponents off the board in a pair of 0-0 double-overtime conference ties. She had 16 saves against East Texas Baptist and six more versus LeTourneau for a total of 22 in 220 scoreless minutes. This is Frazier's second career Player of the Week honor.
The 5-foot-9 standout has helped the Eagles to three shutouts. Behind Frazier's play, the Eagles are again in the hunt for a playoff spot. She starred at Lake Dallas High School where she was a three-time All-District performer.
Frazier shared the honor with Shay Taylor from Mary Hardin-Baylor.
Frazier and the Eagles will hit the road for matches against Belhaven University and Mississippi University for Women.
