St. Joseph Catholic School Church issued the following announcement on Sept. 19.
According to the U.S. Flag Code, “The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.” Please drop off your old flags in the designated American Flag Retirement box in the front entrance by September 26. The Cub scouts will hold a flag retirement ceremony on September 30 outdoors near the outdoor basketball courts.
