Cost of college went up for all students at North Arkansas College

In-state tuition and fees rose 2.6 percent for 2018-19 at North Arkansas College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Arkansas residents paid $2,880 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $72 more than the $2,808 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 60.8 percent more than residents this year, or $4,632. Their price tag grew 1.6 percent from $4,560 in 2017-18.

About 91 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Arkansas residents. About 7 percent are residents of other states and 1 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 95 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 387 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.8 million and 47 students took out student loans totaling more than $204,362.

Including all undergraduates (1,812), 1,399 students used grants or scholarships totaling $5.9 million, and 247 students took out $1.3 million in federal student loans.
