GAME ONE

Overview:

Edwardsville, Illinois-The Eagles let a 5-1 lead slip away as Franklin College stormed back to score a decisive five runs in the bottom of the seventh to steal a 6-5 win. The Eagles had a big fifth inning pounding out seven hits to produce five runs. Hayley Rivett blasted a two-run homer, while Kaylyn Soria and Allison Cowart had RBI singles. Jessye Rowland drew a bases loaded walk for an RBI and the Eagles led 5-1. But Franklin rallied for five straight hits in the seventh to pull out a come-from-behind win. Soria led the team with two hits.

GAME TWO

Overview:

The Eagles scored five runs in two different innings to take a 11-6 win over Webster University. The Eagles trailed 2-0 after the first frame, but recorded five hits in the second inning. Olivia Reed had an RBI single to start the rally. Rayli Ruby reached on an error and picked up an RBI. Tessa Leonard followed with an RBI and Kaylyn Soria capped the scoring with a two-run double. Webster evened the game 5-5 in the third and then took a 6-5 lead in the fifth. The Eagles responded with a run in the fifth on a sacrifice fly from Paige Morton. From there, the Eagles took control of the game. In the sixth, Soria ripped an RBI single and Mack Lucio had a bases clearing double. Reed had another RBI single to push the Eagles lead to 11-6. Lucio got the win in relief. Soria, Allison Cowart, Lucio and Reed each had two hits. Soria and Lucio drove in three runs. Pitching Decisions:WP: Emma SteltzerLP: Mack Lucio
