I would like to thank each and every employee of the City of Huntsville for the tremendous Job they have done in this recent snow event.  First, I will echo the sentiments of previous comments - Scott Phillips and our team at the street department stayed on top of this event - overnight, and on no sleep, absolutely an amazing job!  2nd, our police department worked tirelessly on assisting with those that became stuck, stranded, or potentially in harms way.  Chief Thomas kept me apprised of all thing going on throughout the night.  3rd, Chief Shinn, and our fire department demonstrated great poise and dedication to assist any and all calls that came in, not only in the city limits but outside as well.  As I went to check roads this morning, I noticed Sean Davis and all the water crew were back at it again early, offering to lend assistance to anyone that should need it.  Thank you Katie Boyd for taking all the calls and guiding me in this first weather event!  Lastly a big thanks to the Madison County Judge, Sheriff's Department, and EMS.  The communication between county offices and the city, was spot on, this is the way it should be.  Please be safe today, and thanks for everyone's cooperation!
